Sheetrock First Coat Basecoat Paint Minimizes Decorating Problems
United States Gypsum Company, a subsidiary of Chicago-based USG Corporation, is the world’s largest manufacturer of gypsum panels, joint compounds, plasters and related construction products. Contractors can minimize drywall decorating problems such as photographing and joint banding with a unique new prime coat from USG Corporation.
Photographing and joint banding are caused by differences in porosities and surface textures of gypsum panel face paper and finished joint compound. As a result of these differences, joints, fasteners and other areas treated with compound often remain visible even after the surface has been painted.
SHEETROCK First Coat is a white, flat, latex base coat designed to minimize these problems by equalizing both the surface absorption and texture differences between drywall face paper and finished joint compound. The result is greater uniformity of the finish coat and a beautifully finished wall or ceiling.
SHEETROCK First Coat paint is available in 1- and 5-gallon containers. Each gallon covers 300 to 500 square feet. Designed for fast, easy application with brush, roller or spray equipment, SHEETROCK First Coat dries to a hard white finish in less than 30 minutes and is ready to decorate within an hour. It cleans up easily with soap and water.
