Members of the National Guild of Professional Paperhangers will “Catch the Wallcovering Wave” when they meet for their 2000 Annual Convention and Trade-show on July 19-22 at the Pasadena, California Convention Center and the Pasadena Hilton Hotel.
The convention opens officially with a “beach party” on the evening of Wednesday, July 19. The paperhangers get down to business Thursday morning with an 8:00 a.m. keynote speech by Carl Vizzi, president of York Wallcoverings. Educational sessions on “How to Command Professionalism In Your Business,” “What’s New In Digital Wallcovering,” and “Installing Large Canvas Murals” follow the kickoff speech.
Friday’s convention agenda includes morning sessions on “Managing Your Small Business,” How To Photograph A Room,” “The Cutting Edge Of Wallcovering,” and “Using Computers In Your Business.”
The trade show opens at 1:00 p.m. Friday and resumes on Saturday morning. Over 50 exhibitors are expected to showcase their products and services at the show. The exhibitors list already includes many major wallcovering manufacturers, suppliers of paste and sizing, tool and machinery vendors, and PaintPRO magazine as well.
For all general public and local industry professionals there will be a $5.00 admission at the door.
Saturday afternoon will feature nearly three hours of “Table Top” educational sessions of a wide range of topics. The general public and local industry professionals are welcome to attend the afternoon sessions for $45 (a total of $50 for the day). The convention will wrap up by 6:00 p.m. Saturday.
This year’s NGPP is offering an optional pre-convention educational program, NGPP 101, on Wednesday, July 19. There will be a nominal charge for this program.
