DorRak

DorRAK from The Bullstrong

When spraying a houseful of doors, more time and effort are spent propping, supporting, positioning and handling doors than the actual painting itself. Shuffling the wet doors around is awkward and storing them out of harm’s way is even worse. The inevitable result is more time for touch up, a less than perfect coating or, if knocked over while propped up to dry, damage to the door or wall.

It’s a good thing someone invented the DorRAK. The DorRAK from The Bullstrong Corp. lets you stack, spin, spray, slide and store up to 18 doors in a 4- by 8-foot area. Its adjustable door clamp brackets can hold 12- to 36-inch wide doors weighing up to 125 pounds. The clamp bracket inserts into a trolley mechanism that allows you to rotate and spray the whole door at once, then be glided down the rail base for drying.

Made in the U.S.A., the sturdy lightweight system is said to transport easily and assemble quickly. Including assembly time, 17 doors and six shutters reportedly can be stacked, sprayed and stored in less than two hours.

The DorRAK from The Bullstrong Corp. out of Braintree, Mass., is as efficient and productive as a spray booth in the field. This modular rack system can be used for more than just painting and storing entry doors. Adapter kits are available for cabinet doors, window grilles, shutters, louvers and balusters.
