Warner’s Aluminum Spray Shield provides an overspray barrier for a clean break between wall and ceiling, wall and wall, or where painted surfaces butt up to wall coverings. The 24-inch wide and 8-inch deep tool features a brushed aluminum blade that cleans up quickly with soap and water. A molded plastic backing adds stiffness to the blade and assures a straight, clean edge. The 18-inch handle is molded of black polypropylene for easy handling. Muralo’s new Ultra Ceramic matte interior paint, engineered with ceramic microspheres that chemically shield interior walls from stains, provides an elegant flat finish that hides imperfections while being totally scrubbable. The tough ceramic coating provides outstanding adhesion even under moist conditions, so only one coat is needed, and the paint has outperformed eggshell and semigloss paints in durability, washability and stain resistance. This means a beautiful matte finish is possible in any room. For more information, call Bob Pick at (800) 631-3440, ext. 202, or visit their Web site.

Painting a ceiling just got easier with the introduction of Glidden EZ Track Ceiling Paint, a revolutionary product from ICI Paints that goes on pink and dries white. EZ Track features a specially designed colorant that temporarily appears pink when applied and then transforms to a smooth, bright white in less than 30 minutes. “Ceilings are just about the most difficult interior surfaces to paint,” says Marilyn Malone, manager for the Glidden brand. “The overhead angle is physically challenging and applying white ceiling paint on top of already white paint makes it difficult to see start and stop points. In many cases, recoating or touch-ups are required to cover missed areas.” EZ Track is premixed so it does not require additives or colorants and has a shelf life of almost two years. National Gypsum’s ProForm Surfacer/Primer is a high-build interior coating designed for use with airless sprayers. It requires only one spray application in lieu of both a skim coat and primer coat, so installers can save significant time and money while still obtaining a Level 5 finish. The coating hides minor surface imperfections for interior drywall surfaces and is also an ideal final finish for smooth ceilings. It can also be used as a coating for uncoated concrete, masonry and other substrates.
Thanks to its one-step spray application, ProForm Surfacer/Primer provides material and labor savings of approximately 20 cents per square foot. It is flash rust resistant and cold temperature tolerant to 35 degrees F. It is sag resistant up to 30 wet mils and requires drying time of only 4-6 hours before finish latex paint can be applied. The product can be tinted with up to one ounce of universal colorant per gallon and dries to a hard surface that does not re-wet like other high-build and PVA (vinyl acrylic) primers. ProForm Surfacer/Primer also provides an outstanding final finish for smooth white ceilings. It has a shelf life of three years. For more information visit their Web site.
Whisper Wash has added the Aqua Pro to its line of flat surface cleaners. The Aqua Pro is a 24-inch hover cover with 2-inch nylon bristles and a flip n’ fold handle. The light weight floating hover cover is easy to maneuver within tight areas, while the industrial nylon grade brush confines the high pressure cleaning spray to the surface and not the operator or surrounding areas. With self lubricating twin thrust bearings providing high powered spray bar rotation, the Aqua Pro is just right for high-power pressure wash cleaning. Dexter + Chaney has released enhanced Project Management software for Version 11 of its Forefront Construction Management Software. Project Management bridges the gap between accounting staff and project managers by providing a standardized process for managing workflow. “At any given moment,” says Dexter + Chaney president John Chaney, “Forefront can give the status of each RFI, submittal, change request and change order. Project Management tracks all of these project components — from initiation to final resolution — by date and detail in an organized, uniform, easy-to-access system.”
Among other innovations, the program’s new Inbox screen displays items the team needs to address for a specific project and allows collaboration between members without faxing or e-mailing documents. Viewers may view or print scanned documents and reply to RFIs, submittals, transmittals, memos or change requests.

PEP Associates is ready to release their newest updates for the PEP program. One new feature includes the capability to modify the standard customer contract. Two versions of the legal contract are offered, a long version and a short version. With a few mouse clicks, you can modify the contract to legally satisfy your local/state requirements. The second option is the ability to e-mail a proposal to a customer directly from the PEP program. Shortly after this release, PEP Associates is planning to have another release of the PEP program with a new key feature that will automatically calculate the production rate for square or linear feet items. When defining an item, a new form will be available to select a surface (as defined by the PDCA) and from there, a standard SQFT/Hour rate will be made available to calculate this item. The form will also provide the capability to override any figure that the program displays. This feature will assist the painter in making estimates more accurate. It will save time and money!
Check the Web site at www.paintestimating.com for new announcements and for a free demo. You may also purchase the program online and get a discount or call (860)-738-3561 for more information.
