Wooster Brush

Wooster Brush Co.

Wooster Brush Co. is proud of its Shergrip handles, and with good reason. According to Wooster press materials, the brush company is the only one that manufactures a completely overmolded elastomeric handle.

Originally introduced in 1995, the patented handles are created with a rubber-like elastomeric material that feels good in the hand, reducing fatigue. The easy-to-clean handles will never swell, crack or peel, because they are completely impervious to water and resistant to all common painting solvents. They are ideal for hot days because the nonslip grip improves hold and makes the brush easier to control.

Two types of Shergrip handles are used when making Woosters Advantage brush line and Shortcut angle sash brushes. The Advantage (along with select Ultra/Pro and Production Painter brushes) features a proprietary green Shergrip handle, which is long and thin for extra reach. It uses a solid foam core, completely overmolded with the soft elastomeric. In contrast, the Shortcut Shergrip handles are shorter and fatter for more control in tight spaces. These green, purple, or yellow handles are made of 100 percent elastomeric without a foam core, making it soft and flexible throughout its length.
