Rohm & Haas Company Safety record nets award
Rohm and Haas Company, Croyden, PA/Mumbai, India, won an Owner Safety Award for Best International Project at the Construction Users Roundtable (CURT) National Workforce Safety Awards in November.
Rohm and Haas completed more than 2.9 million man hours of work in one year on the chemical plant facility in Mumbai, India, with only four recordables and two lost workdays. Unique safety practices included: weekly teleconferences with senior managers; a “red band” buddy system which required workers new on site to wear red hardhat bands and be escorted by experienced craftsman for the first months; and a “Top Ten” list of safety hazards that was revised as work progressed.
Frazee Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of Professional Paint Inc. (PPI), has acquired the non-manufacturing assets of Classic Paint in Arizona. The assets include four Classic Paint service centers located in Prescott Valley, Prescott, Kingman and Bullhead City.
Based in Prescott Valley, Classic Paint has been manufacturing and selling architectural finishes to commercial, dealer and retail customers in Arizona since 1979. The four service centers will now be operated under the Classic/Frazee name and will increase the number of Frazee locations to 99 in California, Arizona and Nevada.
