Shurtape Technologies Acquires Tape Specialties
Shurtape Technologies LLC, headquartered in Hickory, N.C., has acquired the professional paint and industrial divisions of Concord, Ontario-based Tape Specialties Ltd. The move will allow Shurtape to offer its customers a broader range of the highest quality pressure-sensitive tapes and will also provide ready access to Canadian markets.
Shurtape will take over the manufacture and distribution of Painters Mate, Painters Mate Delicate, Draping Tape and Protect-A-Corner to the professional painters’ market. In addition, Shurtape will take over the manufacture and distribution of Shatterstop protective mirror backing and the Tape Specialties line of protective films and other quality pressure-sensitive products that are used in industrial applications.
Shurtape will operate the Tape Specialties manufacturing facility and manage commercial brands and the business-to-business market segment. Henkel Consumer Adhesives has purchased the retail business and will market Tape Specialties consumer brands.
