Rohm and Haas Company

Price increases from Rohm and Haas

Rohm and Haas Company implemented list and off-list price increases, effective July 1, 2006, for acrylic and styrene-acrylic emulsions, solution and solid-grade acrylic resins, additives, and colorants sold to industries across North America. There is an increase of 3 cents per wet pound for acrylic and styrene-acrylic emulsions and all additives, and an increase of 5 percent per pound for solution and solid grade resins and colorants.

In making the announcement, James Swanson, vice president and general manager, Architectural and Functional Coatings North America, cited the continuing run up in raw material, energy, and freight costs as reasons for the increase. Swanson pointed out that propylene prices are set to exceed the historic level set after Hurricane Katrina last year and are not expected to ease significantly before the end of the year.
