UCAR Emulsion Systems, Dow Chemical Company

UCAR Emulsion Systems (UES), a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company, increased the list and off-list prices on its emulsion products and rheology modifiers.

Effective July 1, 2006, for all North American customers, UES increased the price by 3 cents per wet pound for all products at or below 55 percent solids and 4 cents per wet pound for all other products, in all chemistries including acrylic, styrene acrylic, and styrene butadiene latexes, NEOCAR acrylics, vinyl acrylic, NEOCAR latexes and UCAR Polyphobe rheology modifiers.

These increases apply to all market segments, including architectural and industrial coatings, adhesives and sealants, and traffic coatings. The ongoing escalation in all costs related to the manufacture of these products, particularly feedstock, energy and transportation costs, continues to drive these increases.
