Armstrong-Clark stains now
available with flame retardant

Armstrong-Clark has long been known for its quality wood stains — full of deep conditioning oils, easy to apply and long-lasting. Now these same stains are available with flame retardant that can reduce and contain flame spread.

The flame retardant stains will be of interest to anyone concerned about fire, whether from a surrounding forest or a barbecue spilled on the deck. The product has been tested to show that it will contain the flames caused by a Class B ember, which is 72 times larger than a typical flying ember.

The stains are easy to apply. After application, the flame retardant separates from the oil-based finish and soaks deep into the wood, while the oil finish dries over the top and locks everything in. As with all Armstrong-Clark stains, these stains can be applied in full sunlight and in the heat of the day. A second coat can be applied if the first coat soaks in within 30 minutes.

The flame retardant is available in all of Armstrong-Clark’s stains including Shake Shield. For more information, call (800) 565-8211 or visit the Armstrong-Clark Web site.
