DC Tool offers a sanding tool called “The Wedge” that essentially converts a standard 3-by-21 sanding belt into a sanding block.
The tool consists of two opposing plastic wedges that fit snugly inside the belt. The exposed sides of the wedges are grooved for finger gripping, enabling controllable and comfortable sanding action.
The Wedge can be expected to last for a lifetime of sanding work, and as sanding belts are made for tough duty, a Wedge sanding block should last nearly 25 times longer than traditional sandpaper.
