The chicken ladder, also known simply as a “roof ladder,” lays flat on a roof, allowing painters to climb up and down sloped sides. The ladder is secured by a large hook that curves over the crest of the roof.
The Lynn chicken ladder is designed for roofers and maintenance people as well as painters. Its 71⁄2-inch hook has a rubber crutch tip, and its raised rungs make climbing even easier. Interlocking, interchangeable 6-foot and 14-foot sections of the ladder are held together with steel bolts and wing nuts.
