Samuel Cabot Inc. S.P.F. system

Wet? No sweat
The S.P.F. system, a new stain product from Samuel Cabot Inc., allows contractors to finish deck or fence jobs in spite of wet conditions.

S.P.F. (Stain Performance Factor) can be applied in wet or dry conditions to a wide variety of exterior substrates. Dampness isn’t a problem with S.P.F. because it uses surface moisture to penetrate and level. The product’s hydrophilic resin system can be applied hours after rain or surface washing.

The two-step process starts with S.P.F.-1 Cleaner & Conditioner, which cleans the surface to be coated and opens the wood pores for maximum penetration and performance. Then come S.P.F. finishes, which are available with light, moderate and heavy pigmentation.

The stain is sold in three tones: Golden Tan, Coco Shell and Sunray. Lightly pigmented S.P.F. 24 is also available in Neutral. For more information, visit the Cabot Stain Web site or call (800) 877-8246.
