Sanders and Scrapers, 3M Dual Angle Sanding Sponge
The humble sanding sponge isn’t the trendiest or flashiest of tools. But one sponge made by 3M can accurately be described as edgy. It’s the 3M SandBlaster Dual Angle Sanding Sponge.
One long, thin side of the sponge ramps out at an angle, giving the sponge a trapezoid look instead of the rectangular boxy look of other sponges. The shaped side gives the sponge two angled edges, one acute and one obtuse, allowing it to get into nooks and crannies that an ordinary sponge would struggle to reach. And because the sponge is not as stiff as sandpaper, it can conform to suit all kinds of oddball sanding jobs, such as detailing and molding work.
The sponge is washable and reusable. It is sold in “maroon” medium grades 100 and 150, as well as “gold” fine grade 180.
