Sanders and Scrapers, Maxxgrip, Vacuum Sanding Kit

New look for Hyde
Hyde Tools Inc. is overhauling its entire product line, and a vacuum sanding kit and three scrapers are among the products that are reaping the benefits.

Three Maxxgrip scrapers have a new brand name — Maxxgrip Pro — and new soft-grip handles that are angled for better leverage. Maxxgrip Pro scrapers’ tungsten carbide blades stay sharp 10 times longer than conventional blades. And the new handles are more tapered in width than older models, making them easier to grip for different sizes of hands.

The three scrapers come with a triangular head or one of two sizes of flat blades. The 2-inch flat-blade scraper sports a newly designed Hammer Head end, which doubles as a hammer and a pull knob.

The company has also designed new packaging for its Hyde Vacuum Pole Sanding Kit, formerly known as the DustDog Dust-free Drywall Sanding Kit. The kit includes a 6-foot nonclogging vacuum hose, two hose adapters, a medium-grit precut drywall sandscreen, a pole sander and a pole connector.

The overhaul at Hyde is aimed at improving ergonomics, brand visibility and other issues. A new image and logo will make its formal debut at the 2005 National Hardware Show.
