Homax LeadCheck Screening Test for Lead

This question was recently addressed by Homax Products, Inc., one of two leading manufactuers of Do-It-Yourself lead testing kits available. According to Randy Hanson, Director of Marketing for Homax Products, Inc, LeadCheck is indeed a valuable screening test for lead. LeadCheck has been extensively tested in a sampling of 400 homes—with virtually 100% accuracy compared to professionals testing the same homes.

LeadCheck is also considered quite reliable and accurate by many health care professionals across America. These professionals use it to seek out lead in homes where lead is suspected to exist. In fact, LeadCheck was the product used by a healthcare worker several years ago to first identify vinyl mini-blinds as a source of lead poisoning for a particular acutely lead poisoned child in a southwestern US home. This information was subsequently provided to the Consumer Product Safety Comission who in 1996 issued a nationwide warning that millions of vinyl mini blinds had been produced and sold extensively in the U.S. that contain dangerous lead. Government tests sponsored by HUD also prove that LeadCheck Swabs are a reliable method to determine that paint is lead free. LeadCheck test kits are available at most paint retail stores. You can also contact Homax Products at 800-729-9029.
