Melanie Royals Training Program for Professional Decorative Artists
Melanie Royals, nationally renowned stencil artist and educator, announces a unique program: Comprehensive workshops designed to train decorative painting professionals in the art of combining artistically advanced stenciling techniques with decorative finishes. Royals, herself, has been teaching these highly successful workshops for the last three years, at schools around the country.
The program is an outgrowth of Royal’s vision to advance the level of art, application, and appreciation of decorative stenciling. So far, it has worked! Former students report back stories of gratitude and success. Some students, who previously did not even consider stenciling as a legitimate or saleable artistic medium, have been amazed at the professional and creative opportunities that have opened up for them after adding the class samples to their portfolios.
Royals has now trained and certified instructors from 15 of the top schools in the country to add this comprehensive program to their curriculums. The program is based around 20 different stenciling techniques and effects that Royals has developed and identified. These techniques can be mixed, matched, and combined with each other, as well as with any number of decorative painting finishes and mediums to create Extraordinary Stenciled Effectstm.
Besides featuring the exclusive use of the sophisticated stencil collection from Royal Design Studio, the workshops also feature use of the advanced water-based based product line, Aqua Finishing Solutionstm, from Faux Effects, Inc. Although the stenciling techniques and effects can be translated to other finishing products on the market, Royals prefers working with Aqua Finishing Solutionstm . Royals says, “The advantage of working within a product line, especially such an extensive one, is that artists can combine and layer products within the finish without fear of incompatibility issues.”
